PNS picked up their 2nd point of the season after a thrilling 3-3 draw with S&L Corby on Thursday night.

The opponents were quick on the break and Thompson the S&L number 11 had a couple of one-on-one chances early in the game that Paul Smith did well to save. It was against the run of play that PNS took the lead when Ciarran Turner headed on for Antonio Monteiro to open the scoring on 28 minutes.

The lead lasted just 5 minutes when Oddie Wasson got caught on the ball 30 yards out, almost compounded his error by trying to bring the player down and watched hopelessly as Thompson finally got on the score sheet.

Smith saved spectactually from the S&L 10 before Antonio saw an effort saved in the last minute of the half.

The 2nd half was just as entertaining as Turner set up Antonio for another chance before PNS went behind to another mistake. This time Nathan Ginty was caught in possession, Aaron Chapman missed his clearance and Thompson finished for his 2nd goal on 69 minutes.

Just 2 minutes later PNS were level as Turner turned home a Luke Hill corner, but the scores were level for just 6 minutes as the S&L centre forward Davison scored an absolute screamer from 25 yards.

PNS made some substitutions with Mathulis Nkobi the pick and continued to press for an equalizer. That came in the shape of a quickly taken free-kick from outside the area from captain James Jackson and the 3-3 final score was a fair reflection of the game with PNS showing great team spirit in the face of adversity

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
