PNS remain winless in the Northants Senior Youth League after throwing away a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead against Corby Town

Sam Noakes was introduced into the PNS starting line up and his strong running from midfield was a feature. On 13 minutes he set Helder Pinto free and the left sided player saw his shot saved by the highly impressive Corby Town keeper.

Equally impressive for the visitors was the striker Webster and he got free of Nathan Fryer shortly after before firing wide.

With game fairly even and half-chances at both ends, PNS took a stranglehold of the game in the last 10 minutes of the half. First an excellent corner delivery from Luke Hill was headed back across goal by Nathan Ginty for Josh Moreman to nod in from close range on 35 minutes. Just 4 minutes later a 70 yard ball over the top from Ginty was latched onto by Antonio Monterio and the striker finished cooly.

Corby got themselves back into the game 5 minutes after the re-start when Webster latched onto another long ball before finishing. However the next 15 minutes saw PNS miss a number of opportunities to stretch their lead as shots from Pinto, Moreman & Monterio were all well saved.

Then on 65 minutes Corby levelled against the run of play when Aidan, the Corby centre half fired in a 30 yard free-kick. Unfortunately this was the signal for PNS to fall to pieces. Substitutions failed to arrest the slide and all shape, disclipline & heart disappeared from the hosts.

On 68 minutes Drury gave Corby the lead when unmarked at the far post and the scoring was completed with a cheeky back-heel from Webster with 5 minutes to go.

Corby celebrated widly at the final whistle as well they might given their position at half-time and PNS need to start learning lessons quickly if this is not to be a long hard season.
