Rothwell Town 2
Peterborough Northern Star 0

Although the game was lost our Management team were more than happy with the performance.
With half the team 15 years of age or just turned 16 this showed we are making progress. A very talented Rothwell Town side who earlier in the season had beaten a Peterborugh Utd U18 in the county cup started the game well. P.N.S though were more than a match, and for 25 Minutes the game was nip and tuck.
That changed after a corner was not defended properly and the ball was scrambled in to the net with 26 Minutes on the clock.
Rothwell then took control of the game and on 38 minutes scored from a tight angle which looked like a cross come shot but found it's way in to the net.
Rothwell went in to the break with a deserved 2 nil advantage, but Star came out a different team and immdiately took the game to the hosts.
Although we did not get the goals our play deserved we did manage to dominate for long periods of the hallf, and also limited Town to one half chance.
This was a signifcantly better performance than our victory against Yaxley one week earlier. We now hope this will be taken in to the rest of the season as the games start to come thick and fast.
