A commanding and strong performance from the P.N.S boys.Which resulted in a well deserved vicory and a league double over our local rivals Yaxley.
This game really should of been over at halftime, with Currie,Almen,Glover and Turner all Missing guilt edged chances from close range. Credit must be given to Yaxley who managed to weather the storm and had 1 or 2 half chances of their own. The sides went in level at halftime with a sizeable crowd well entertained.
The 2nd half started much the same as the 1st with Star having the majority of the possesion and play.
The deadlock was broken after 65 minutes. A low driven shot from outside the box, from recent signing Joey Yeboah nestled in the bottom left hand corner of the Yaxley goal.
For the next 10 minutes yaxley went on to dominate procedings. Jack Raynor making a goal line clearance after Mitcham had misjudged a cross. This would be Yaxley's best chance of the match. Almen and Jordan Earl both missed chances for Star when 1 on 1 with the keeper.
But all in all this was a much improved performance from a very young Star team. Lets hope it is repeated in the weeks to come.
