PNS got back to winning ways with a 5-0 thumping of Herts County League side Letchworth Garden City Eagles.
With only the holidaying Lee Blewett missing, PNS had a strong 18 man squad on show with player-boss Chris Plummer also watching on as Tom Moran made a return to the starting line-up though still feeling some of the effects of his recent illness.
The first half was a pretty tight affair with the visitors more than holding their own. PNS were grateful for some indiscipline at the back for Letchworth as first the kpper shoved Mark Jones out of the way from a corner on 13 minutes and then Jones was sent sprawling by the full back on 34 minutes. Mark Baines and Josh Moreman despatched the resulting penalties comfortably.
For the 3rd game in a row, the 2nd half performance of PNS was far better as opponents visibly tired having completed so well in the first period. On 56 minutes Josh Moreman broke clear down the left wing before finishing at the 3rd attempt. Moreman made a quiet start against Barton last week, but made an encouraging appearance from the bench against Huntingdon that he built on here in a 90 minute work out.
The 4th goal came on 80 minutes when a Ronnie Fortune corner was met with a flying header from Gareth Jelleyman, who continues to train and play with PNS as he weighs up his options.
Goal number 5 came on 89 minutes when a Fortune cross from the right was met by Karl Gibbs whose header was saved by the keeper but the ball fell kindly for lively substitute Daniel Clements who smashed the rebound high into the net.
For an hour this was a competitive game and PNS have the fitness platform to now go and for the side for the opening league game to start to emerge in the final 2 friendlies.
