Club History |
Formed as a village side in the early 1900's, Peterborough Northern Star were at one time called Northern Star, the brickyards team at Eye before being re-named as Eye United.
The club moved from the Crowland Road ground in the late 1960's to Lindisfarne Road before moving to its present home of Chestnut Avenue. Northern Star had up until entering the UCL, been associated with the Peterborough League for 57 years with the reserve side competing in the same league for 39 years. The first team gained promotion through the league, entering the Premier Divisionin the 1973/74 season where they remained until gaining entry to the UCL in 2003.
In its last few years as a Peterborough League side the club had major success, winning the Premier Division 3 years out of its last 4. In 2000/01 as Eye Unbited, the club set a new league record when they won all 30 of its league games under the management of Roger Daniels and Vince Elliott. Inthe same season they went onto add the Jack Hogg Shield and Senior Cup
